Poetry
OccuPoetry seeks poetry about economic justice/injustice, greed, protest, activism, and opportunity. Submissions need not be limited to Wall Street’s greed nor US-based poets; we consider the Occupy Movement a world-wide movement for a more just world.Use this form to submit formal and free-verse poems. Once the editors have received a critical mass of submissions, we plan to post a new poem three times a week. We review submissions weekly; response times may take up to a month.
We agree with Meyer Abrams that poems should be read aloud. If you have the means to record yourself reading your poem, please do. Multimedia recordings, while not necessary, make for stronger submissions and also help make the website accessible to those with different abilities.
If we accept your poem, we will request a recording at that time. We will ask you to send either a link to a video hosted by YouTube or other video platform OR an audio recording as a file attachment (e.g. mp3).
Thanks,
Phillip and Katy
